Why Our Used Commercial Vehicles Stand Out in Dorset

How We Prepare Our Used Commercial Vehicles in Poole.

When purchasing a used commercial vehicle, preparation standards matter just as much as the vehicle itself.

At Hamworthy car centre, we understand that businesses rely on their vehicles every day. That’s why every used commercial vehicle we supply goes through a thorough a meticulous preparation process before being sold.

In this article, we will explain the standards we work to, what buyers should expect from a professional commercial vehicle dealership like us and why preparation is one of the most important factors when buying a used van. If it needs doing we will do it.

Mechanical Checks

We do a 200 point PDI which includes

  • brakes - changed at 30%
  • suspension
  • steering
  • clutch operation
  • tyres - changed at 3mm
  • engine performance
  • fluid levels
  • battery condition
  • all electrical components
  • operation of all lights
  • keeping up with the service schedule - if its due we will do it included in the price

Any issues identified during inspection are addressed.

Vehicle Presentation

Preparation is not only about mechanical condition, to us presentation also matters.

Our used commercial vehicles are professionally valeted and cleaned thoughrouly to ensure they are presented to the highest standard both inside and out (some of our customers even say we present them better than the top main dealers)

To give you an insight a few things included are:

  • around 2 days spent on each vehicle getting it ready for handover
  • interior cleaning - our detailing team will often go around the dash with a fine detail brush ensuring nothing gets forgotten
  • exterior cleaning - extensive bodywork polish on all panels
  • load area - we will even replace the ply line kit if the current one doesnt fit our standards

Proper preparation goes far beyond a quick wash and vacuum (which is all you will get at most main dealers). At Hamworthy car centre we believe every vehicle should be presented to the highest possible standard. In fact, every year when our director buys his own brand-new vehicle, he will bring it back to our valeting team after collection because he trusted our standards more than the main dealers. That level of attention to detail is something we apply to every vehicle we prepare.

Why Preparation Standards Protect Buyers

A properly prepared vehicle can help reduce the likelihood of:

  • unexpected repairs
  • breakdowns
  • operational downtime
  • avoidable maintenance costs

For businesses relying on vehicles every day, this can make a significant difference over time.

Buying from a dealership with clear preparation standards can also provide:

  • greater transparency
  • stronger confidence
  • better long-term value
  • improved aftersales support

Theres alot more that goes into the preparation of our vehicles, but this was just to give you an insight. Wherever you go to buy your next vehicle dont be afraid to ask about the preparation process, it might make you think twice.
